What is Heatmap?

A visual data representation showing where users click, scroll, and spend time on a webpage.

What is a Heatmap?

A heatmap is a color-coded visual overlay on your webpage showing where users click, move their cursor, and how far they scroll. Hot areas (red/orange) indicate high engagement; cold areas (blue/green) show low interaction.

Types of Heatmaps

  • Click heatmaps: Where users click most
  • Scroll heatmaps: How far down users scroll
  • Move heatmaps: Where users hover their cursor
  • Attention heatmaps: Where users spend the most time

Why Heatmaps Matter

Heatmaps reveal what users actually do versus what you think they do. They're invaluable for CRO, if nobody scrolls past your hero section, your content below is wasted. If users click on non-clickable elements, you're missing conversion opportunities.

How FlowStrata Leverages Heatmaps

FlowStrata uses heatmap data from client landing pages to optimize the pages where our outbound traffic lands. By understanding scroll depth and click patterns, we ensure CTAs are placed where prospects actually engage.
